The Committee is pleased to anounce that we have been awarded a grant from leading local employer CPP to support rugby development at the Club.

Tupton Rugby Union Football Club, Dronfield Rugby Club and Whittington Wanderers Cricket Club have each been awarded £1,000 grassroots sports grants after responding to an article in the Derbyshire Times in June.
This is the third year that the cash has been made available by CPP, which employs over 200 people at its West Bars contact centre. The company is dedicated to supporting youth-based sports in the district.
Tupton Rugby Union Football Club launched its Mini/Junior section in 2009 and already has more than 40 members. Tupton will use the grant to train more volunteers and coaches to work with the youngsters and will be able to kit and equip the teams for the season ahead.
Damian Wroe, head of operations at CPP Chesterfield, who judged the applications, was delighted to see such a positive response to CPP’s offer. He said: “CPP has played an active role in the Chesterfield sports community since we opened our contact centre in the town three years ago. It is great to see so many clubs doing positive things for young people. It was really difficult to pick this year’s winners, but we hope we have chosen clubs that will make the biggest and most positive impact on grassroots sport in the district.”
