Alex Hawthorn has been selected in the final Midlands squad of 22 who commence their divisional matches next week against London. Alex plays rugby for Walsall under 16's and Aldridge School.

Ronnie Wrighton, coach at Walsall commented " Alex is a fantastic player and this is the least that he deserves. He is one of the most dedicated and committed players in our squad and I am sure he will go even further. What makes this achievment even better is the fact that, unlike most of the other players in the squad, the school Alex attends does not major in rugby and it is purely through his hard work and determination at Walsall Rugby Club that has made this all possible. "

Alex will concentrate on his Midlands committments for the next few weeks but will then rejoin his team-mates at Walsall rugby Club under 16's in their campaign to win the County Championship.
