Full programme of fixtures from the earliest opportunity under covid adapted conditions

This is it!

Cricket in a Covid pandemic.

We have had the go-ahead from Boris; we have the detailed adaptations required by the ECB; we have had an amended schedule of league cricket from the SHCL; and we have resurrected our traditional and friendly cricket programme.

Our Sunday schedule is starting as soon as we are allowed with our away fixture at Bramfield on 12 July and a home game with Potter Street and Church Langley the week after.

The second half of league fixtures will be played as originally published but with the 11th July game (Watton v Hatfield & Crusaders) moved to 12 September as the new last game of the league a week later than usual. This means that our first league match will be away at Abbots Langley on 18 July. This also means that we have an opportunity for a 'brush the cobwebs off' game on Saturday 11 July so we have arranged to host Cheshunt Rosedale with a 1:00 start.

These games will be under the adaptations published by the ECB which include

  • Keeping details of participants in case of track and trace requirements
  • Frequent hygiene breaks (every six overs)
  • Reduced handling of the ball in the field
  • Only umpires touch the stumps (other than in the course of pay)
  • Players and umpires only touch their own clothes
  • Batters run in lanes socially distanced from the bowler

The weather is forecast to be dry for the first weekend back and we are keen to get back out there playing the game we love.
