Woodrush RFC are very sad to announce the tragic loss of former first team number 8, Chris Partridge.
Chris sadly died as a result of a suspected heart attack whilst playing for the Woodrush veteran team against Redditch yesterday at Icknield Street.
The match was to mark the clubs 50th anniversary in what was a replay of the first ever match on the same day in 1966.
Chris received competent support on the pitch and was immediately attended to by 4 trained first aiders, ambulance and air ambulance medics, who all gave him the very best chance.
Both fixtures were postponed as a mark of respect.
Our condolences go out to Chris's partner, Jackie, who was at the game and his three children and family.
Thank you to all those who have sent messages of support to his family and the rugby club.
Funeral details and further information will follow.
On Behalf Of Woodrush RFC
Andy Gibbs
Chairman
