Waller grabs winner as Rebels beat Sutton United 4-3 after extra-time to progress furthest in their history

Worthing Under-18s beat Sutton United 4-3 after extra-time on Wednesday to reach the FA Youth Cup second round proper for the first time.

Mike Waller scored the winner as the Rebels, who had led 2-0 at half-time, triumphed to make history.

Worthing took a two goal advantage through Austen Symons and Matt Hards before Sutton levelled the scores in the second half.

Hards scored again as the Rebels went ahead but the hosts hit back once again to make it 3-3 after 90 minutes.

But it was Worthing who finally prevailed as Waller, who has been impressing as a substitute for the first team in their last two games, struck the winner.

Worthing are now just one win away from a potential mouth-watering tie against the likes of Chelsea, Manchester United or Arsenal as they enter the competition in the third round.

First the Rebels face a tough trip to Biggleswade Town in the next round after the Bedfordshire side eased through with a 6-1 thrashing of Enfield Town.
