This Saturday we welcome Staines RFC to Old Deer Park for the first home game of the Herts/Middx 1 league season.
The two teams have already met this year with Staines hosting us for a pre-season friendly. The London Welsh squad won that fixture 24-5.

The 2016/17 season in London 3 North West was a tough one for Staines. Two wins and four bonus points in 22 matches left them in last place and someway adrift of the rest of the league, seven times conceding more than 50 points including some notable defeats against Stevenage and Hemel respectively.

But that was last season and we know that Staines are looking to rebuild and regain their place in the London Leagues, they were certainly a strong and able opposition when we played a few weeks ago in PreSeason.

Like us, they won their first match of the season and the 17-14 win at Hendon puts them just in the top half of table at this early stage. The London Welsh 1st XV sit one place above them thanks to the 14-5 victory at Watford.
