In a contested first half Newbury were the superior team and after going close a number of times Steven Passey opened the scoring soon followed by Nipho Makasi scoring with his right foot!

The second half was very one sided with Newbury scoring early on from Charlie Drury then Eddie Haines and they were soon 5 up after Iain Middleton was fouled in the area before getting up to score the penalty himself. Newbury continued the regular scoring with Ben Loosen making it six, Joe Brodrick seven and Middleton eight. The ninth goal was scored by Newbury’s 8th different scorer and this time after going close numerous times it was Devin Bowers, immediately following this he donned the keepers gloves and allowed the underutilised Newbury keeper Matt Salt a run out.
