We went 2 down with only a quarter of the game played, but it never looked like we were going to be overrun as had happened back in October when Koudekerk thumped us 1-7.

Rod got us back in the game, when he closed down the keeper and scored courtesy of a rebound. And Adriano levelled the score, finishing off a nice move when he received the ball in the penalty area, switched the ball to his favoured left foot and pinged the ball into the net.

Unfortunately, with only 2 minutes of the half remaining, we got caught out at the back after our attack broke down and we were exposed in defence. The need to have all 4 defenders in our own half at all times seems to be a mandatory requirement!

So, 3-2 down at half time, but still in with a chance.

Second half, and the chance arrives when Adriano is pulled down in the area and we get a pen. Tim V steps up and scores to draw the teams level. That's Tim's 11th of the season and 70th goal for the club!

Then the contentious offside decision - a cross from Rod hits their defender and it goes in for an OG, but the linesman flags Nick offside. Had VAR been in use it would have been a goal! Anyway, despite some vocal protests, the ref agrees with the linesman and the goal is disallowed.

Then they get the winner when a misplaced cross loops over Federico into the net.

We deserved at least a point, but it wasn't to be. Another away defeat and we remain rooted in 7th place, where we seem to have taken up permanent residence!

The Koudekerk boys were a decent bunch, and even delivered up a crate of beer at the end of the game.
