David Coyle was without Bartram, Watkinson,Cooper and Holmes but a large crowd came to the game bolstered by the 25 year Player's Reunion day, remembering the unique contribution Freddie Colk made to the club as a former player and more notably Chairman.
The A's kicked off playing towards the tennis courts and a word of praise to Shaun in charge of the pitches who had produced a flat surface despite the recent rains.
United got on the score sheet early when Lewis Dugdale produced yet another assist for a colleague rounding the keeper before setting up Conor Durrant to slide the ball home for 1-0.
Lewis then headed on to Durrant but his header went over the bar. Sanders then saw his double shot blocked by the Mundford keeper.
Then another long throw saw Aaron Sanders hook wide of the target, before the busy Durrant tucked the ball away but the Mundford linesman flagged for offside.
Lewis then showed brilliant control to create an opening but his shot went inches wide.
United had really been the only side in it and took the break one in front but with probably more to come in the second period.
Durrant made it 2-0, before Ryan John raced clear of a defender to set up Lewis whose shot was well saved by the away keeper.
Mitch Carson then set up Lewis for 3-0.
The Mundford rearguard just couldn't cope with Durrant (and niether for that matter Lewis or Dugdale) and next he raced clear before being fouled in the box but skipper Barraclough saw his penalty saved.
The A's turned on the style in the final 20 minutes that saw Durrant shoot into the side netting. Lewis galloped away from defenders before shooting over. Foreman comfortably saved a free kick from 30 yards out but in truth there was little more from Mundford.
Dugdale then showed another example of his ability in a lovely Acle move but his shot was saved by the keeper and so the A's recorded only one league defeat in thirty five games over two seasons. News from Wroxham and Easton were a wonderful start to the fancy dress party with all dressed for the occasion, another good example for me of how Daniel Barraclough has led the side both on and off the pitch this season. My thanks go to all the players for their contribution and support for the Christmas Raffle.
