AFC Ludlow overcame Telford Juniors 2-1 to progress to the semi final of the TJ Vickers Senior Cup in a game which saw Telford end the game with 9 players.
AFC took the lead when Jason Wellings reacted quickest in the box from a corner to fire home but even with Telford Juniors down to 10 men drew themselves level with 5 minutes to go when AFC failed to defend a corner themselves and they were dually punished.
Captain Jack Beaumont scored what proved to be the winner from the penalty spot with 17 minutes to go as pictured (Picture Courtesy Of Darren Musgrove) to send AFC through.
Manager Dave Cooper
In reality on chances we created we should have scored 10 but a mixture of great goalkeeping and waste full finishing nearly cost us as Telford Juniors despite being down to 10 men & then 9 men for the last 20 minutes of the 2nd half really put us under pressure and can count themselves unlucky not to have scored an equaliser as they hit the bar with a thunderous 30 yard strike and also forced our keeper 'Havard' into some decent saves.
We really have got to learn to kill teams off as we could have been punished for some real sloppy play.... But were in to the semi-final and we can put that to bed until next year and concentrate on our league campaign starting Saturday at home against Bustleholme who gave us a real good game last month when we faced them in a game we ran out 3-1 winners.
