This match hinged on the ref's decision to red card 2 Selsey players just after half time. We had just about deserved our 1-0 lead after Joe keehan scored with a looping header. The conditions weren't easy as despite a good flat pitch the wind was swirling around the ground.

And so onto the red cards. Max Davies and Joe Bennet were the culprits. One of them was adjudged to be over zealous in a challenge which left Ollie Stevenson clutching his ankle in a heap on the floor and as ref Ollie Westgate raised the red card the other selsey player decided to express his views in no uncertain terms which left the ref with no other decision.

So with us 1-0 up against 9 men you would think game over but football is never that predictable and from an attacking corner Ollie dummied the ball only for it to fall at the feet of Ryan Morey, who went on a solo run somehow got past 4 players and was clear on goal. Our goalie Harvey parker sensibly didn't take him down as he rounded him to slot the ball home. 1-1. Oh dear.

Not to worry it's only the 51st minute and they have 9 men so plenty of time, well so we thought. Sometimes when a team knows it has one job they can collectively work harder and just enjoy the art of defending. And so it proved as Selsey thwarted attack after attack and in Morey has a forward that was working at 200%! Time began to slip past and like looking at an hour glass the grains of sand were moving to quickly as we searched for the answers. It eventually came in the 74th minute after great team move which saw Alfie Proto-Gates swing in a sublime left footed cross, after an energetic overlapping run, which was met by the forehead of the every reliable Joe keehan to make it 2-1. Game over.

A valiant effort by 9 man Selsey who must be wondering what the score would have been if they had kept their discipline.
