After seeing the First team and U23’s win, the U19’s knew they had to win to top off a 3/3 weekend for ACFC, something that had not yet happened this season.
The match started off with both sides feeling the other out. Some bits of possession here and there, but no big chances created early.
This would continue throughout the half as the U19’s started to hold more and more possession.
With halftime looming, Solly Bradley scored his team leading 10th goal of the season to put the hosts up 1-0. A vital time to score a goal, with the U19’s snatching momentum at just the right time.
Halftime saw manager Phil Phillipou make one substitution, bringing on Federico Alvarez for Massil Megdoud.
The second half was extremely tight and there was not much in it. Both defenses and goalkeepers played well and nullified any chances created.
The 70th minute saw Ayoub Bouslah Grine come on for Ruslan Gazizov.
The U19’s defense continued to play well, maintaining their clean sheet.
Just as the game entered the final 5 minutes, Max Palacios scored to give the U19’s that little bit of relief.
They would see the match out from there, capping off a 2-0 victory in what was one of the more uneventful games on a crazy season so far for the U19’s.
This victory for the U19’s wrapped up a winning weekend, where all 3 levels of ACFC had wins. This is the first time this season all three teams have won in the same season, and hopefully a sign of more good things to come in the new year.
