Despite improved performances and growing team comradery, the U23’s had still not won a game this season going into their match against Beniarbeig CF.

With an improved defensive play last weekend, it seemed as if the early goal woes were a thing of the past.

The U23’s came out hungry for a win, with Priestly Boateng continuing his hot form with a goal in the 9th minute, putting him at 5 on the season.

Knowing that a 1 goal lead is never really enough in football, the U23’s pressed for more.

In the 20th minute, Raheim Fleming scored his first goal of the season after a decisive counter attack.

This 2-0 scoreline was the one the U23’s brought into the changing rooms at halftime.

Manager Adolfo Villena Soto didn't make any changes at halftime, allowing the starters who put in such a good performance in the first half to continue their work.

Coming out for the second half in the lead for the first time all season, the U23’s were buzzing about the pitch.

The first substitute came on in the 71st minute with Michael Raphael coming on for Patricio Vidales.

The U23’s dominated possession for most of the second half, especially after Beniarbeig CF had a man sent off.

Chances were created but ACFC were unable to extend their lead.

Van Lian came on for Ryan Dewar in the 75th minute to add more stability to the midfield.

The final set of substitutions came in the 83rd minute with Stephen Williams and Lavitran Rabinath coming on for Raheim Fleming and Ollie O’Connor.

The U23’s saw out the match from there, to not only get their first win of the season but also their first clean sheet.

The U23’s return to action next week for their final match before the Holiday break against CF Monnegre de Mutxamel, as they look to continue this form into the new year.
