Alloa Academy S1 School of Rugby show off their new kit

Alloa RFC is once again pleased to supply the new School of Rugby intake at Alloa Academy with their new training kit for this year as part of their commitment to supporting the local Secondary Schools' Rugby Programme.

The joint aims for the Schools Rugby Programme at Lornshill and Alloa Academies are to demonstrate the impact that sport – rugby – can have on school communities by:

Contributing to the health and well-being outcomes of the Curriculum for Excellence.

To improve the participation and performance levels of rugby by achieving an:

Increase in the number of boys and girls playing the sport.
Increase in the number of rugby teams playing regularly at the school.
Increase in the opportunities for pupils to experience learning out with the classroom.
Establish and strengthen the pathway to Alloa Rugby club.
Improvement in rugby skill levels e.g. Key National Themes.
Improvement in physical competencies.
Improvement in the performance of school teams.
Increase in the number of pupils selected for Scottish Rugby’s Performance Pathway.

The Lornshil and Alloa Academy Schools of Rugby are a feeder for Alloa RFC’s youth program. The club are hosting an open day on Sunday 10th September from 10.30am until 1.00pm, at Earlsfield, where the club coaches will take players for a training session while parents and carers can meet with Club Officials, Lornshill & Alloa PE staff and Clacks Sports development after a short presentation.
