Allscott missing a few players dominated from the very start with ex pro keeper Boswell having to dust his gloves off and go in goal for the home side. Allscott played a very confident game and passed the ball extremely well and kept control of the game for the first half. Debut and exciting young player Blake scored a well composed goal. Boswell made a fantastic one on one save and later on saved a superb effort where captain Davis also cleared the ball off the line. Bradley and Oldfield continued their partnership and were very comfortable. Parker made a fantastic run down the left side through 4 Oakengates players, only way they could stop him was to foul him just outside the box. Great defending by Bentley and Davis. Leech and Childs finding the channels and formed a rock at the back. Work horse Gregory put a great shift in, whilst Joseph also had an energetic game and got himself about causing problems. Blake causing problems on the last man and will in time with match fitness be one of the best strikers in the league.
first half 1-0
Oakengates came out a new team in the second half and caused Allscott all sorts of problems. Boswell proved he still had it in goal by saving the ball going over the line, much to Oakengates frustrations and shouts for a goal. Allscott calmed the nerves and started playing better football. Introduction from injury by Worthington, which was great to see. He has been a great miss. All in all a great win for Allscott who move up to 4th in the league.
Allscott travel to Weston Ryhn next Saturday.
