Allscott got off to a miserable start at their local derby against Oakengates...
Allscott went 4-0 down after 20 minutes which looked like a complete freak show from the side of the pitch... Keeper Fletcher kept the score line lower with some exceptional saves.
Gregory came off with a Hamstring pull and was replaced by Hurdley who made an immediate impact physically & vocally.
Dispite Trailing by such a big margin so early on Allscott picked themselves back up and started playing football again... 2 fantastic goals by new comer Dizzy saw Allscott back in with a chance... The game had changed and Allscott was on top.
First half Oakengates 4 Allscott 2
The first half got on the way and Allscott started where they left off... Within 1 minute Dizzy charged down a loose ball and slotted top scorer Matt Boswell through to net Allscott's 3rd goal.
Bradshaw,Davis,Bentley and Biggin began to control and work from the back and played into the midfield engine.
Hurdley,Oldfield, Bradley and Parker dominated the midfield and was forever pressing.. Some great play by Oldfield saw the centre midfielder run through the Oakengates defence only to be fouled outside the box. Bradley stood over the ball and whipped the ball to the back post for a trade mark header from Skipper Davis to pull Allscott level... What a come back.
Worthington and Leech came on to keep the momentum going.
After some great play from Allscott who looked like getting a winner they conceded a late penalty which Oakengates converted.. That did not stop Allscott. Allscott kept battling to the end and in the 88 minute equalised with a well worked goal setup by captain Davis for Oldfield to curl it past the keeper.
Worthington then had an opportunity to put the side in front but was too far from his reach to get a good shot on target.
Dispite drawing Manager Ford was very happy with his sides performance and willingness to come back from such a huge deficite. Ford asks for all players to show passion in the next game as soon as the game starts. If so we will win every game we come up against.
