We had a Sunday afternoon trip to Strathaven today to play Avon U13's. We didn't take the win, and due to a lack of numbers we only had one defensive player, so that played a major part in the goal difference.
Thanks to Amelia for holding down the defensive fort as our GK/GD, and a shout out to Florence, Chloe, Darcy, Zoe, Iona and Nora for playing out of position to help us have some defence. Also to our Martha who ran her absolute socks off for the whole game!
Despite the score and a technical loss, I am so happy with the game play today.
Avon is a mixed ability team, having some older players about to move up (and some serious height differences sometimes!) etc, yet the girls handled it extremely well and our attacking play was absolutely fantastic.
Every single player smashed it and gave everything they had - I am so happy to see the progress we have made! Thanks again to parents for spectating, scoring and dropping them off.
