On a beautiful autumnal morning Alnwick U12s traveled south to face Ponteland RFC. The friendly game was planned as a warm up for the approaching Waterfall Cup tournament. In the true spirit of junior rugby, several periods of competitive play saw Alnwick come out on top, although both sides were evenly matched. With teamwork to the fore, the Alnwick side demonstrated how much improvement has been made already this season. Tom Clark, James Anderson, Ollie Thew and James Watson all scored tries, but could not have done it without the fantastic support of their teammates, who played equal roles in the set up. A special mention for Matthew Walton who made his debut for Alnwick, quickly establishing himself as a core member of the team.
