Jim joined Kersal just after the Second World War. He was always known as a true gentleman in the Kersal tradition.
During his time at the Club, he played for all teams from the First XV down to the Fifth XV. He regularly attended England internationals both home and away with other members of the Thursday Club which met at the Club after training to keep the bar open.

His funeral will be on Thursday 26th September at 11am at Altrincham Crematorium and afterwards in the Belmore Hotel on Brooklands Rd.
