Ampthill Town F.C. is a football club based in Ampthill, England. They were established in 1881 and joined the United Counties Football League in 1965. They have reached the 3rd round of the FA Vase 3 times in their history. They are currently members of the Spartan South Midlands League Division One.

In May 2008 an Ampthill Old Boys side took on Chelsea Legends in a game watched by over 600 people. Despite leading for most of the game, Ampthill eventually lost a hard-fought encounter 2 - 1. They have also played a charity match against the Arsenal Celebrity Charity Football Team.

During preseason 2009/10 Ampthill Town First Team have gained a credible 2-2 draw against a Luton Town XI. Luton Town equalising late on with a penalty.

Ampthill Town appointed Bernie Stuttard as the new chairman for the 2010-2011 season, Bernie has alot of plans to help push the club in the right dirctions and his experience from being at Barton Rovers can only be a good thing for the club.

An Ampthill Town XI took on a Legends team managed by Luton Town Legend Mick Harford on the 1st of May this year drawing 4-4 with famous players such as, Luther Blissett, Ian Walker, Marlon Beresford, Ken Monkou and many more.

Ampthill will once again have two sides competing in the Spartan South Midlands Football League For The 2011-2012 season. With the First team in the South Midlands Division One and the Reserves will competing in Reserve Division two after being relegated from Division one after Rob Woods had gained promotion from division two in the 2009-2010 season and then left to go St Neots in November 2010, which lead to the appointment of Steve Mahoney as manager. The Club will also have high hopes of the first team doing well in both FA Cup & FA Vase competitions.

Steve Goodridge will remain in charge of the First Team in a new joint manger role with Adam Deadman for the 2011-2012 season. The club will be looking to push things forward on the pitch and improve on last years finish.

Steve Mahoney will remain as the Reserve team manager after being appointed as manger in November 2010 and will hope he can guide the Reserves back to division one on the first time of asking.
