This week the ARMS volunteers reached new heights when they tackled painting the rugby posts at Hamilton Park.
Its been a long time since this has been done and after renting a cherry picker to do the job they now look in fine order.
The call to ARMS at Hamilton Park came about following the covid pandemic which highlighted the need to maintain good mental health through social interaction with others and physical activity.
As such, Club President Stevie Nutt established the Ards Rugby Men’s Shed who meet at Hamilton Park on a Monday morning at from 930am-1230pm, this is an opportunity to come together and carry out some tasks around the club grounds / clubhouse that so far have included cutting grass, painting the posts around the main pitch and making wooden planters for the club decking.
Of course, there is always some banter along with a coffee, scones, buns and biscuits.
You don’t have to be a club member or interested in rugby to be part of ARMS - just turn up on a Monday morning at 930am or contact Stevie Nutt 07783475153.
