‘Sea of Red and Blue’ initiative

Iain Hannah3 Feb 2016 - 09:45

Niall Currie has called on Ards fans to turn Solitude red and blue at next week’s JBE League Cup final.

"I want to hear the Red & Blue Army in full voice, from first kick to last.”

As the club make their first senior cup final appearance in 12 years, Ards supporters are being encouraged to participate in the ‘Sea of Red and Blue’ initiative, designed to make a colourful spectacle on final day.

Fans are of course expected to come decked out in their club colours but also think of adding something a little different to their get up.

Be it a red and blue fuzzy wig, face paint or a giant foam hand; flags, ticker tape or balloons, Ards supporters are asked to live up to their tag of being the ‘Red & Blue Army’

Manager Currie commented: "At the moment the playing staff are focusing on Saturday's important league match against Annagh United, but I know the club's directors and helpers have been working hard behind the scenes to make next week's JBE League Cup final an occasion for all Ards fans.

"I'm delighted to hear that the tickets have been selling so well as the players will need all our fans to get behind them against Cliftonville.

"It would be fantastic to see our supporters filling the away end with as much red and blue as possible. I think the club's Sea of Red & Blue initiative is a great way to generate a colourful atmosphere at the game.
