2016 is the 20th Anniversary Season of the Army RL Lawson (Inter-Corps) Cup Competition, with the first ever Inter-Corps RL fixture being played between the REME v RE in 1996. The AAC will take the field for the first time as a Corps RL side this season; therefore 2016 sees the greatest level of participation in 20 seasons of Army RL. The Sapper v Gunner game will be played as a curtain raiser at a Gloucester All Golds game, as part of the 300th Anniversary celebrations of both the RE and RA.
Teams will play 4 group games, with the top two teams from each group progressing to the Semi-Finals.
