Ashley Down Old Boys RFC Juniors was officially launched in May 2016, the youth section now forms an integral part of our RFU accredited club, with a number of youths from the local community and beyond actively involved in the club.

Children as young as 3 years old are welcome to come and join. Training runs from September - April and the children have great fun playing games, developing skills and understanding the game. The are a number of games and festivals arranged for Under 7's upwards whilst the under 6's and below continue to train on a weekly basis.

Training and matches - Training times vary depending on age group:

Wednesday at Lockleaze Sports Centre 7 – 8pm – Girls Under 12’s and 14’s, and Under 15’s

Thursday at SGS Wise Campus 6 – 7pm – Under 9’s, Under 10’s, Under 11’s, Under 12’s, Under 13’s and Under 14’s.

Thursday at Lockleaze Sports Centre 6 – 7pm - Under 16’s and Colts

Matches are also played (normally on a Sunday) for under 7's upwards (times dependant on location) .

Playing Kit - Each player that is involved in matches will be provided with a playing shirt that will be collected after each game by your coach.

Equipment – ALL children playing contact rugby, must wear a gumshield. Studded boots must be worn on artificial pitches regardless of age.

Costs - The fees cover the pitch hire, equipment, first aid, coach training and insurance. Refer to Membership Fees FAQ for more details.

We are looking to make a difference to the lives of young people, promote sport in our community, build for the future and be able to provide rugby for all ages to enjoy. Our approach encourages children from all backgrounds to become confident and prepare them for adulthood.
