Ashton United are pleased to announce that Alan Sneddon has joined the Board of Directors. Alan, currently General Manager of B&Q Ashton under Lyne, joins the club after 'getting the bug' as a supporter of the club.
Alan said, 'I first became aware of Ashton United early on in the 2014/15 season when I was invited to a game together with my son Charlie. We were completely blown away by the welcome we received from everyone and found that that welcome wasn't just reserved for us, the match day experience week in and week out was incredible.'
Having quickly embraced the feel good factor around Hurst Cross Alan soon set about trying to do his bit as a supporter of the club. He helped set up the new aluminium can recycling initiative and joined forces with Supporter and club Social Media Manager Ken Philburn to organise a very successful Memorabilia sale and comedy evening.
Alan's role will be to support the further development of commercial activities and help build the capacity of supporters and volunteers.
Alan finished by saying, 'I am thrilled by the prospect of helping this fantastic club to achieve even greater success. Working with my fellow Directors and supporters I am optimistic we can really help the lads on the pitch and I already have a number of ideas already on the go.'
