The opening game of the new Covid-19-affected season, 2020/2021, did not bring the start that Ash United had hoped for. One down after 10 minutes of the first half; then a penalty against and Ash were two down inside the first 20 minutes. However, flashes of good play prevented anymore goals and at half-time the score remained 2-0 to Walton & Hersham, allowing Ash United the chance of getting back into the game.
Regrettably it was not to be, when Ash conceded a third on 60 minutes. Having used all 3 substitutes, misfortune occurred when Cameron Bradbury suffered severe leg cramp and had to come off, with no replacement. Down to 10 men, Ash United battled on but then conceded after 80, 89 and 90 minutes, to give a final score of Walton & Hersham 6, Ash United 0.
