Aspatria Officials and Players were quick to go on record in praise of Dave Preston when he announced his plans to move to Penrith in a coaching role. All wish him well.

Dave played at Bower Park for three seasons and quickly established himself as a popular member of the playing squad, equally famous for his socialising as for his uncompromising rugby.

Dave was part of the Cumbria Cup winning squad in season 2012-13 and as such has wrote himself into the history of the Aspatria club. He was a near 'ever present' in each match day squad that coach Mike Scott named sometimes travelling great distances from work in the South to get on the park. He will be missed.
