FOGS THOUGHTS:
First team back in action this weekend after the week off, with an important fixture in the Fred Ford. This is the start of a very busy and important period for both sides as we head into December, a win Saturday sets up a challenging quarter final tie that will be played prior to the Christmas break, we need to get through on Saturday and with a few missing we still have an extremely strong side tie for the visit of Chadlington.
Reflection on the last game and it was almost a perfect 10 as it were. We dug in after being 2-0 down against local rivals and then tore them off the park in all honesty. We battled were we needed to, and played some really decent football. Always good to score 10, 2 hat tricks for the strikers that finished the game but an overall great team performance that puts us top of the league and has a great increase in our goal difference.
Reserves from last week also very unlucky. Seemed to have turned a corner, unlucky to lose on penalties but well done lads. Keep playing like that and you'll definitely pick up more points that you lose.
Team selection was another difficult one this week. With myself being away, we have an excellent stand in the sticks , Drifter and Sam missing, Hewer and Longy opting for starts in the reserves, but we can name 10 players that finished the game and the strength in depth shows through again. With the little Nip back as well, we do go in to the game with confidence but we've just got to get the job done and continue with our free scoring run.
I'm not there Saturday, but Giggsy Fleming will be in charge with assistance from Fish and others, let's get through and look forward to 3 challenging December games. Don't forget Christmas Jumpers for the drinks in the evening, will look forward to seeing the first and reserves drinking as one.
Good Luck boys.
