50 years ago yesterday, Aston Old Edwardians CC 1st X1 won the Coleshill Midweek Cricket Knockout.

Catherine de Barnes posted 53-8 off 15 overs (8 ball overs), and Aston were 55-5 off 12.3 overs.

Featuring in the Aston side were Rob Stait, Mike Collis, Peter Pitt, Graham Wem, Roger Cowdrill and Gerry & Tony Smith (older bothers of Martin Smith). Gerry went on to have a fine cricketing career playing in the Birmingham League, as well as playing for both Birmingham RFC and Aston Old Edwardians.
