I would like to thank you, and all of your playing / coaching / members, and especially the bar management for making us feel so welcome last Saturday 8th March, and offering us a buffet that was so unexpected but much appreciated.

It was a pleasure to be able to mix with like minded rugby people, to watch and chat about the finer details on running a successful rugby club, and having a good giggle.

We enjoyed every minute of our time with you all. Could you please thank the young lady who transported us all to the Perry Barr Greyhound track later in the evening.

If there is any reason for you and your club to travel to South Wales, please don’t hesitate to contact me or the secretary of Bettws RFC Newport, for any advice or assistance, we would very much like to offer our own welcome, and return hospitality to you all.

In case anyone is wondering, Julie (who else ?) was the “young lady” who ferried the group to Perry Barr when taxis were in short supply.

Bettws RFC have travelled to the Scotland v Wales international for the last 38 years, but because of rising costs they decided to have a weekend in Birmingham to watch a local game, and to see the 6 Nations match on tv.

Despite us being in the middle of the refurbishment they were impressed by our clubhouse, ground and facilities and particularly the standard of rugby and the welcome and hospitality afforded to them.

Many thanks to Julie and Mandy for looking after our visitors so well - we also received really positive feedback from Southam RFC on the day, which all helps to promote AOE within the rugby fraternity.
