Jack Giddens departs Millers

Colin Munford11 Dec 2012 - 15:14

Goalkeeper Jack Giddens has left the club to join St Neots Town.

Goalkeeper Jack Giddens has left the club to join Evo-Stik Premier high fliers St Neots Town.
Giddens had been a revelation since joining the club last month, pulling off a number of fine saves in his spell in between the sticks, but has opted to challenge himself a step up the Non League pyramid.
And although disappointed by his departure, boss Justin Gardner completely understands Giddens’ decision.
“I am absolutely gutted Jack has decided to move on, he has been a great player for us in the time he has been here," said Gardner.
“I can’t praise him enough. I am disappointed but St Neots are a bigger club and in a higher league so you can’t begrudge Jack the chance at that level.
“He was honest with me and said he wanted to play higher and he hoped it was with Aveley but this opportunity came about and he has decided to take it.”
Giddens was due to play in tonight’s (Tuesday’s) league match with Witham Town, but that has been called off.
In his second spell with the club he made seven appearances, conceded six goals and kept two clean sheets.
Aveley FC would like to thank Jack for his contribution and wish him all the best at St Neots.
