Aveley FC TV caught up with Jason Raad briefly to preview the upcoming game away at Canvey Island this Saturday. So far this season Jason has scored 8 goals and assisted 11 times.
Coming up against Canvey Island and his previous experience playing against The Gulls: "I've actually only played against Canvey Island once, and that was at Parkside, I've never played at Canvey's ground, but I have gone there and visited before, it's a nice ground with a good atmosphere, so that should be a good game."
Jason only game against Canvey Island came back in November 2018 as a substitute replacing Shad Ngandu. Sure Jason will be more heavily involved this time around. Jason missed last season's reverse fixture away at Canvey due to injury, although we won that game 2-1, a brace from Alex Akrofi.
Jason on both teams form going into the game on Saturday: "Both teams have had good results recently, especially with us, we have been on a very good run of form in the league and FA Trophy. It will be interesting to go there, but it's just another game of football and three points are on offer that we will be looking for which is a result we always ask ourselves to go and achieve."
"As a team, Canvey are a decent one, we need to focus on our game on Saturday and see what we can do, but it'll be a good game."
We look forward to seeing as many of you at the game as possible to back the Millers! It'll be a good atmosphere too with the 'Canvey Ultras' coming up against our very own Sons of Aveley!
