Tom bird went close for the K's when he headed over the crossbar from a right wing cross. For the Millers Ellis Remy went very close with a header of his own, but on the fifteen minute mark Remy scooped over a shot from close range when it was easier to score. One of the quickest starts of the season for the Millers, we took the lead after just two minutes against the Jammers through a rifled shot by Junior Dadson. But the visitors levelled soonafter against the run of play through a header from Ollie Berquez. In the second half the visitors looked like the side who should be in front after many chances in the first 20 minutes. Saturday 9th August 2014: Aveley FC 0-2 Waltham Abbey:
This game wasn't the best opening day game we've ever been involved with. It was a cagey opening with few chances but Waltham Abbey came out on top thanks to two goals from James Peagram and a red card to Danny Hopkins. Peagram's first came from the right hand side as he chipped the ball superbly over James Marrable's head, soonafter Danny Hopkins saw red after a poor challenge just before the break. The Millers threw everything at the North London side but it just wasn't meant to be as Peagram scored a volley on a classic counter attack to guarantee all three points.

Saturday 8th August 2015: Bury Town 5-1 Aveley FC:
If 2014 wasn't the best opening day game, then this one was even worse. We played really well up until Bury Town's first goal and after that it was one way traffic from the Suffolk Side. Loanee Liam Nash got the Millers off to a flyer and top of the Ryman North in the 7th minute of the game to lead 1-0. Ollie Hughes made it 1-1 after rounding Kelly well and tapped home, that equaliser was followed by a second for the hosts with Hughes again, this time heading into the net from close range. Ace Howell came on and his pace frightened our back line and he used it to get Bury's third. The hosts added their fourth and fifth late on through two more substitutes, the first Lampshire and the second came from Barber to round off a 5-1 defeat for the Millers.

This was our first opening day win since the beginning of the 2013/14 season, goals from Olumide Olliwatimilehain, Emmanuel Ighorae (2) and Michael Pindy (2). A five two win was also enough to send the Millers to the top of the table. We took the lead from Olu, but Ware bounced back and turned the game on it's head with two goals in five minutes both coming from Brian Haule, one a header and the other from the penalty spot. Ighorae got his first of the game just before the break, and in the second half the Millers bossed it, Pindy chipped the keeper to make it 3-2 and then Pindy turned provider as his cross found Ighorae who got his second of the match for 4-2. Roles were reversed for our fifth as Ighorae found Pindy who tapped home to round off a superb day.

Bowers doubled their lead with a header from Lewis Manor after good work from Tony Stokes. We then pulled one back as the first roar from Parkside crowd was heard as Jordan Peart slammed it home from the edge of the area, 1-2.
