Redbridge get last gasp winner to take all three points on the night

It was one of those nights for the Millers, as they gave it their heart and soul, but couldn't get the goals to win the game.

Aveley again started poorly and we found ourselves 1-0 down within the first minute. De ja vu as Chinedu McKenzie was played over the top, he used he blistering pace to get away from Junior Baker and Spencer Harrison, Chinedu hits his right footed shot under James Marrable and into the back of the net for the Motormen.

On his debut Junior Ogedi-Uzokwe had a lot of chances, although he didn't take most of them, seeing a striker getting in the right positions is something that is very promising. Junior also linked up well with Marcus Elliott as he played Marcus through, but a great save by Jack Avery, which went out for a corner. Alex Stavrinou took the corner, but again a header was saved by Avery.

Mathias Bakare impressed throughout as a make-shift right back, as he sprinted behind the Redbridge defence as Billy Holland played a superb ball in behind for Matty, he crossed it which was palmed by Jack Avery, it landed awkwardly to Marcus Elliott who just can't convert the rebound.

Junior Ogedi-Uzokwe broke and was through on goal, but this tried to be too clever, as he tried to go round the keeper, and his shot was saved out for a corner. The corner was again whipped in, this time to the back post by Alex Stavinou, to Marcus Elliott who heads into the side netting.

Aveley's next attack was again as Junior Ogrdi-Uzokwe got in behind, but was taken down, rugby tackle style by Liam Thomas, for some reason the referee and linesmen both ignored it and nothing was given.

Half Time- Redbridge 1-0 Aveley.

Aveley piled on the pressure on the Redbridge goal. And finally Aveley levelled, fantastic quick paced passing, great pass to Alex Stavrinou by Billy Holland, Alex then slipped it into Junior Baker, who fantastic "cross" found Junior Ogedi-Uzokwe who was quicker to react and turned the ball in to equalise for the Millers.

Aveley were everywhere, a superb pass was placed through to Marcus Elliott who again was pulled to the floor as he was one-on-one through again Avery, he was pulled down, free kick given, but was only given a yellow card. Letter of the law, it's a red card, all day everyday, but for some reason the referee saw it different.

Substitute for the Millers as Danny Francis came on for Marcus Elliott, whom on another day could've had three or four goals.

Teddy Nesbitt slipped which allowed McKenzie to get in behind, Junior Baker recovered well but Chinedus shot was blocked by the arms of Junior. Referee awarded a free kick. The free kick was Redbridges second shot of the game, and this time was easily saved by James Marrable.

Danny Francis managed to get in behind of the Motormen but his shot just takes a nick wide and goes for a corner kick. Alex Stavrinou took it, it was headed back across the goal by Spencer Harrison to Lee Weemes, whose header was wide of the target.

And with those wasted chances by the Millers, on cue the sucker punch, and the winner by Redbridge. The ball was lost in the middle of the park, Redbridge broke forward with four players against Aveley's two defenders, the ball was played across the box to Leon Smith who found the bottom corner of the goal to clinch all three points for the Motormen.

Full Time- Redbridge 2-1 Aveley.
