Two goals in two minutes killed and sealed the game for the hosts in a poor turn out from the Millers.

The game was open to start with, as great chances fell at both ends. The first was to Abbey but James Elmes headed wide front post from a corner. Aveley then attacked and an Abbey defender almost put through his own net, but luckily for him it went the right side of the post out for the corner, but much like all but one of the corners, they failed to beat the first man.

The Millers went close after great work by Teddy Nesbitt, he played the ball out wide to Kyle Asante who came inside but his shot was cleared well by Joe Kizzi.

James Marrable was called into action as he came out well to prevent Harry Elmes from opening the scoring, and Marrable scrambled the ball away from danger.

Somehow the Millers didn't take the lead, Jack Stevenson fantastic run deserved more, he could've passed it to Asante who was on his own, but he decided to shoot which was well saved, the ball then landed to Kyle Asante, but he connected with the ball too softly, Marcus Elliott then converted the ball into the net, but the linesman had his flag up for offside.

Against the run of play Waltham Abbey then took the lead, Harry Elmes was on his own, surrounded by three Aveley defenders, he lobbed the ball over Marrable who managed to get a hand to it, but it wasn't enough to prevent it from going into the back of the net. James might've thought he could've done better with it, but he was unlucky. ABBEY 1-0 Millers.

Waltham Abbey in my opinion were lucky to keep all players on the pitch throughout the game, the wet, slippery pitch could be blamed, but Matt Bedford slid in two footed on Theo Ola, which left Ola in horrific discomfort. But only a talking to was warranted by the referee. Sammy Knott was then whacked in the face by the swinging hand of Jason Hallett, the linesman waved frantically, and if he's seen it, it's a stonewall red card, but the referee didn't even talk to the player on this occasion.

Only a minute later the same player jumped off his feet into George Essuman, both up in the air, he could've caused serious injury, luckily for George it was a knock he did run off. But this time a yellow card was pulled out by the referee.

A very frustrating first half, littered with poor tackles, but good passing from the Millers, however lacked that cutting edge.

Half Time- Waltham Abbey 1-0 Aveley FC.

The second half started brilliantly for the Millers. Teddy Nesbitt corner was flicked at the front post by Theo Ola to the back post where Junior Baker tapped in from four yards to get his fifth of the season, and to pull the Millers back level. Abbey 1-1 MILLERS.

Sammy Knott had to then come off due to the whack he received early in the match, he was replaced by Petrit Elbi. Teddy Nesbitt had to be moved to left back to cover, but then we seemed to lose the tackling and grit Nesbitt brought to the midfield.

Waltham Abbey retook the lead with a ball that was really simplistic, a simple ball down the middle killed us, no one went with Elmes and he poked the ball past the on-rushing James Marrable. ABBEY 2-1 Millers.

One minute later Abbey put the game out of sight of the Millers. The ball was easily played to Bruno who wasn't marked and he smashed the ball past Marrable who couldn't do anything about it. ABBEY 3-1 Millers.

Aveley showed some heart, Jack Stevensons free kick was deflected straight into the arms of James May. Peagrum came on for Abbey and was into the action straight away, he peeled off his man with ease but his shot was well saved by James Marrable.

Millers recent addition Charlie Gregory came on for Aveley as he replaced Theo Ola.

Danny Francis was in the thick of the action as he went in for a 50/50 with James May, and he landed awkwardly on his ankle and was not able to continue, and for the rest of the game the Millers were down to 10 men.

Petrit Elib ran at the Abbey defence, and top poked it through to Marcus Elliott his shot went to the top corner but was denied his tenth goal of the season by a wonderful fingertip save by James May.

But the last action of the game was another goal for Waltham Abbey. Peagrum was allowed to chest the ball down and play it to Russell who lashed it home in off the bar to make it Waltham Abbey 4-1 Aveley FC.

Man of the match- Jack Stevenson and Teddy Nesbitt.

Full Time- Waltham Abbey 4-1 Aveley FC.
