Millers end their run of eight away games without a win since Barkingside in September, to run riot in Sudbury

Millers came to AFC Sudbury knowing that a defeat could put a six point gap between the clubs, so this was a game which the Millers had to win.

The game started off with Sudbury on top, trying to put ball over the top to run on to, but with Billy Sendall and Junior Baker there, nothing was getting past them. Sudbury tried with long throws into the Millers box, it bounced loose for Craig Pope but his shot was comfortably wide.

Millers really should've taken the lead earlier in the 10th minute, Jack Stevenson out a great ball through for Kyle Asante who was one-on-one, but he seemed to be caught into two minds, whether to chip the keeper or to sneak it under him. But this time the keeper came out on top, and saved well.

Sudbury looked at one point the most dangerous to score, good interchange from Berquez and Coley, Coley came inside but again Millers through their bodies at the ball.

The tackles that were flying in on Aveley players were horrific, and on another day someone could've easily broken their leg. Paul Preston was the first to receive a two footed tackle, the Sudbury player didn't get any of the ball but a throw-in was given. Mathias Bakare then received a two-footed off the floor horror tackle, and Sam Clarke was shown the red card, and rightly so.

Millers then went infront deservedly, corner was put into the box by Sammy Knott, it landed to Billy Sendall whose shot was blocked on the line, but Arian Retkoceri turned it home from two yards out. Sudbury 0-1 AVELEY.

Half Time- AFC Sudbury 0-1 Aveley FC

Sudbury started the strongest with 10 men, and had a great chance to make the game all square. Ollie Berquez shot led tooted, it look destined for the back of the net, but for s superb fingertip save by James Marrable, kept them out.

Mathias Bakare then went down from a headbutt from Yiga. Yiga was awarded a yellow card, but Bakare was also given a yellow card for getting a headbutt.

Bakare then also went off as he looked groggy and out of it so he was subbed off and on came Charlie Gregory for his second appearance of the season.

Four minutes later the Millers doubled their lead. A fantastic counter attack, the pace of Theo Ola after he was set free by Jack Stevenson's pass, Ola ran to the by-line crossed it to Marcus Elliot who was cool, calm and collected as he chested the ball down and put the ball in confidently to put the Millersout of sight. AFC Sudbury 0-2 Aveley FC.

Billy Sendall looked to be forced off due to an injury, hopefully nothing too serious as yet again he was fantastic at the back for the Millers. Spencer Harrison returning from rolling his ankle was the man to replace him.

Kyle Asante was then taken off for Hassan Jollah, making his third appearance from the bench this season.

Hassan Jollah then had a chance, his shot was low and hard, but it was a good save by Garnham, it came to Theo Ola who pulled it back for Sammy Knott but his shot went over the bar.

The last action of the game came as Marcus Elliott was again taken out from behind. Jack Stevenson stepped up and curled it into the bottom corner to round off a superb win for the Millers.

Full Time- AFC Sudbury 0-3 Millers.

Man of the match- Arian Retkoceri and Billy Sendall.
