Aveley eased to a 3-0 victory in the Ryman North

Millers beat the Ramblers and go level on points with four teams as they all will fight it out for that play off spot.

GOALS:-
1-0 Spencer Harrison (12th Minute)
2-0 Spencer Harrison (53rd Minute)
3-0 Theo Ola (78th Minute)

In the early five minutes of the game, both Jack Stevenson and Kyle Asante looked dangerous. Jack Stevenson had the first shot of the game but it didn't really threaten Matt Belcher in the Burnham goal. Jack and Kyle soon after linked well but a fine defensive tackle denied Kyle Asante a free shot on goal.

Burnham really didn't look like a side who had only won three games all season, they looked good going forward but just didn't have that cutting edge.

The Ramblers did have their chances, first Bradley Nobbs shot was well blocked by Spencer Harrison. Retkoceri then lost possession but Lee Pleasance was wasteful and his shot was well wide.

Burnham lived to regret those missed chances as Theo Ola was taken down and the Millers had a free kick in a dangerous position. Sammy Knott stepped up and crossed the ball into a the box and Spencer Harrison rose highest to head the ball into the back of the net to give the Millers the lead. Aveley 1-0 Burnham Ramblers.

Burnham came back straight away, and but for a superb fingertip save from James Marrable the scores would have been level. Liam Burgess had the effort after good work from the left, but his shot which looked destined for the top corner was tipped over the bar from Marrable to keep it 1-0 to the Millers.

Millers could've doubled their lead before half time, Jack Stevenson played a superb ball through for Marcus Elliott, but his shot was well saved by Belcher. Marcus Elliott then almost got through, but he seemed to be tugged back but as he didn't go to ground and tried to be too honest, the referee waved away.

With only a few days until Christmas everyone at Aveley wishes Lee Scott a swift recovery after he suffered an apparent dislocated knee-cap during the first half as he went in for a fifty fifty tackle and came off the worse. He was taken away by ambulance after the game.

In the time until the end of the half, Burnham Ramblers kept getting behind Aveley defence, and the Millers rode their luck as they relied on the crossbar to deny Liam Burgess just before the break.

Half Time- Aveley FC 1-0 Burnham Ramblers.

The second half was quite a slow one, chances came at a premium, a good run from Jack Stevenson was halted by a fantastic last ditch tackle by David Collins.

Millers then doubled their lead through Spencer Harrison (ish), Sammy Knott corner bounced around the Ramblers penalty area, Harrison got a touch and it hit others and looped over Belcher into the back of the net. Aveley 2-0 Burnham Ramblers.

The Millers then made a change as Charlie Gregory came on for Arian Retkoceri.

Burnham came again but somehow they didn't pull a goal back, Isaac Aubyn won a free header, it landed to Bradley Nobbs, but he scooped the ball over the bar, which was the Ramblers only real chance of the second half.

Steve Carvell was then brought on for his debut and he replaced Kyle Asante.

The game again went into a lapse, Theo Ola looked like a dangerous spark, every time he got the ball and ran he was hacked down by Burnham Ramblers defenders. It lead to a wrestle on the floor where it looked like David Collins kicked out at Theo Ola on the ground. Both players were awarded a yellow card.

Millers topped off their win with a sublime third goal. Theo Ola picked the ball up and from 30 yards out he let rip, it didn't really seem to change in direction but the Burnham keeper seemed to dive the wrong way from the ball, and it found its way into the roof of the net. Aveley 3-0 Burnham Ramblers.

Marcus Elliott was then taken off for Billy Holland, and there were no real chances in the game.

Millers now go into the festive period full of confidence and three points happier at the start of the day.

Full Time- Aveley FC 3-0 Burnham Ramblers.
