Five goal triumph puts Aveley four points clear of sixth.

With the game surviving the torrential rain throughout the night due to fantastic work by the volunteers and ground staff at Chatham, Millers ran riot in the second half to romp to victory.

The first half started sloppy from the Millers perspective, Chatham were allowed to take a quick free kick on the edge of the area, luckily the first shot of the game fired just wide.

Chatham came again with two corners which just didn't go in, free header first for Davies nodded the ball away from the goal and the second was met by Kaffo who commented well but just couldn't find the target.

More good work from Chatham as they attacked down the left, good work from Phillip forced another Chatham corner, which again they managed to get a free header but we're wasteful as Hickey was the next to head wide.

Millers then started to grow in the game and on a cut up surface were trying to play good football and the quick passes worked.

Millers had the best spell as Paul Preston crossed into a dangerous area, it landed to Petrit Elbi, but his shot was just deflected wide for a corner, but it was just about cleared by Chatham.

Millers then took the lead as you could sense a goal was coming, it came out to Billy Holland who placed a curling shot past the keeper into the bottom corner to give the Millers the lead and the captains first goal of the season and long spells out. Chatham 0-1 Aveley FC.

Chatham came straight back at Aveley as Taylor managed to get through the Aveley back line with a question of offside but a fine save by Marrable denied Chatham with a instant response.

For a long spell of the first half Millers defended well and limited the hosts to long range shots which they didn't manage to get on target.

The Millers almost doubled their lead just before half time, Junior Baker headed down well to Petrit Elbi whose shot was fantastically saved by Wellham in the Chatham goal.

Half Time Chatham 0-1 Aveley.

Chatham came out quick of the blocks and had two chances in quick succession to make the game level. Benbow played the ball across the box to Taylor but his shot went wide of the target. Phillip pounced on a mistake from the Millers but he took his shot quick and it went high and wide.

Millers went up the other end Petrit a Elbi was pushed in the back and free kick was given. Ahmed Deen put it in, Spencer Harrison flicked the ball on to his centre back partner Junior Baker who headed the ball into the opposite corner to double the Millers lead. Chatham 0-2 Aveley.

Chatham again came back strongly and again should've replied. It landed to Benbow infront of the goal but somehow he couldn't get his shot off, and it stayed out thanks to a mix of Spencer Harrison as he put him off and James Marrable as he collected the ball.

The Millers then added a third, again Petrit Elbi involved. Elbi stole the ball off Collins, went to the by-line pulled it back to Marcus Elliott who was in the right place and the right time to tap in his 11th goal of the season. Chatham 0-3 Aveley.

Billy Holland then came off for George Essuman.

Chatham had their chances, but couldn't get their shots on target.

Millers made it four, Petrit Elbi chased down a lost cause ball back to the Chatham, keeper, he kicked it at Elbi it looped over Wellham's head and landed into the back of the net for Petrit Elbi's deserved goal. Chatham 0-4 Aveley.

Petrit Elbi was then taken off and on came Steve Carvell.

Millers could've them had a penalty, after good work from Theo Ola and Mathias Bakare, Bakare played a superb ball into Marcus Elliott who was taken out from behind but penalty appeals were waved away.

Chatham had a corner, but the Millers countered, Paul Preston ran from inside our area to the by-line, chased by Phillip all the way, he managed to beat him, put it on his left, crossed it to Marcus Elliott who finished superbly into the bottom corner to give the Millers their biggest win of the season. Chatham 0-5 Aveley.

Marcus Elliott then came off for Arian Retkoceri.

The last chance of the game came for Theo Ola after he was put through by Arian Retkoceri but Ola's left footed shot went wide of the left hand post.

Full Time Chatham 0-5 Aveley

Man Of the Match- Mathias Bakare- His defensive work was different class, eveytime Chatham attacked down the left he intercepted everything. His runs from defensive get you off your seat as you do think something could happen with his ability to spot a pass which lead to a penalty shout to the Millers.
