90 minute game interrupted for three minutes by two pieces of magic to make the game 1-1

Both sides didn't really play to their full potential as both sides looked destined to play out a bore draw at Mill Field.

Paul Preston started the brightest as he drove forward at the Maldon defence but was tackled well by Anderson to stop Paul from bearing down into the area.

Maldon & Tiptree's first serge into the Millers half from Adewunni was halted by a super triple tackle from Sammy Knott who was superb all day, with his superb tackling on Jammy players.

Adewunni then broke clear of the offside trap and was one on one with James Marrable but his shot somehow ended up not going out of play and went away from the goal.

The Millers first shot of the game came from Jack Stevenson after good work from Luke Stanley and Alex Stavrinou played the ball back to Stevenson on the edge of the area and he forced Behcet into a save down to his left hand side.

Maldon & Tiptree should've again taken the lead after the ball fell perfectly for Culfer from a long throw into the box, but his effort was tame and straight at James Marrable.

The Millers came forward again as Alex Stavrinou was the next with a surging run forward but he took his shot when he was off balance and the ball went over the bar.

Paul Preston again was a constant threat as he surged down the right hand side. He crossed in a great ball across the six yard box but Danny Francis was blocked off by Greenfield and couldn't get on the end of the ball.

For the next twenty minutes of the half the game was dire, and wasn't allowed to flow as foul after foul was given to the Millers. At half time the foul stats were; Aveley with one, and the visitors with 14 fouls.

Half Time- Aveley 0-0 Maldon & Tiptree

The second half was a very slow start to the game, the only real thing that actually happened in the first ten minutes was the floodlights coming on.

The first corner of the game came on the 59th minute mark as Sammy Knott whipped a ball into the middle and the Jammers countered. Ex-Millers Nathan Korangten raced on through and rifled a magnificent left footed shot towards goal which cracked off the underside of the bar and in to give the visitors the lead. Aveley 0-1 Maldon & Tiptree.

It took only three minutes later and Jack Stevenson scored a contender for goal of the season. Out of nothing the ball landed to Jack Stevenson 30 yards out and on to his left foot which he curled over Behcet into the back of the net. Aveley 1-1 Maldon & Tiptree.

Maldon had their last chance of the game as a ball was agonisingly played across the box it came to Culfer but his shot was chased down and blocked by both Junior Baker and George Essuman to deny the visitors a win.

With time ticking away the game become hard to keep track of. Petrit Elbi was booked for a poor tackle on Greenfield. Greenfield then put his head in on Elbi, a clear headbutt for all to see.

However both the referee and the linesmen close to the incident did not see the incident. Which incensed Anton Stephenson who was down the touch line. The referee then unjustly sent off Manager Justin Gardner for saying "Are you serious?", if he was John McEnroe he would've got away with it, however Justin was sent over the barrier.

Only a minute later a proud moment for the football club as Tarryn Allarakhia from our youth team made his first appearance for the first team.

Theo Jones was then sent off for the Jammers after leaving his foot in on Jack Stevenson after the ball went. It was his second yellow card.

After all that the Millers almost won it as Petrit Elbi wriggled away from four Maldon & Tiptree players and got his shot off into the bottom corner, but his shot was superbly tipped wide by Behcet to deny the win.

Really both teams didn't deserve to win the game, both cancelled eachother out in what was a dire game and poor advert for Non-League Football.

Next up for the Millers. A massive game against Billericay Town in the Essex Senior Cup Semi Final.

Millers XI- Marrable, Preston, Knott, Baker, Essuman, Stavrinou, Ola (Elbi), Holland (C), Francis (Allarakhia), Stevenson, Stanley (Retkoceri).

Unused Subs- Bakare, Gregory.
