A superb team performance at Wroxham ends the Yachtsmen hopes of finishing in the play off places.

A superb late goal 5 minutes from time gave the Millers a much deserved win in Norfolk.

The long 250 mile round trip to Wroxham ended in delight as the Millers scored two to overcome the team from Norfolk who also crashed out of play off contention with their defeat.

The Millers really showed the kind of team they are on a good day as Liam Nash and Theo Ola threatened heavily.

A ball down the left hand side provided the Millers their first chance as Theo Ola drifted past the Wroxham defence to set up Luke Stanley who fired over from six yards.

Wroxham did threaten with crosses from Remy Gordon which were just cleared by Billy Holland and Matty Bakare.

The Millers came again as Liam Nash and Arian Retkoceri had long shots easily saved by Wroxham shot stopper.

Aveley piled on the pressure and Wroxham kept the ball but we're never getting anywhere with the ball as they stayed in their own half as the Millers attacks pressed fantastically to deny the Yachtsmen a chance of getting forward.

The Millers came again and Theo Ola forced a corner, whipped in from Knotty, Junior Baker just couldn't get on the end of it to give the Essex Side a deserved lead.

As the 35 minutes came up on the clock Robbie Farrell was fouled by Gordan. Sammy Knott stood over it and scored the Millers 100th competitive goal of the season, which really must be the goal of the season, 30 yards out Sammy Knott left footed superb shot crashes in with pace in off the bar to give the away side the lead. Wroxham 0-1 Aveley

But with the Millers lead looking stable just before the half time whistle he hosts levelled it up. Matty Bakare was this time caught out by Remy Gordan and he stole the ball off of our right back, went round James Marrable and finished calmly into the bottom corner. Wroxham 1-1 Aveley.

Half Time- Wroxham 1-1 Aveley

With Thurrock winning and Dereham drawing, this turned into a must win game for the hosts and they came out firing.

Remy Gordon with a good pass to Jamie Forshaw whose shot was brilliantly saved by James Marrable over the bar to keep the scores level.

Wroxham were really in control of the game throughout the second half but superb defending from Junior Baker and Spencer Harrison really did deny the hosts having clear chances in the game as they were reduced to only two shots on target.

Corner after corner were cleared away by the Millers and the changes in the game were needed.

Assistant manager Anton Stephenson, was brought on as we needed to hold the ball up front which he did superbly. Marcus Elliott came back from 10 weeks on the sideline which helped cover Matty Bakare against the superb Remy Gordon.

The Millers then took the lead from a one two between Arian Retkoceri and Marcus Elliott linked up superbly. Retkoceri played into Elliott who later it back to him, Arian danced around Wroxham defence and superbly tucked away to send the Millers with all three points.

Brandon Scott came on nearer the end and had a goal disallowed as he went passed Wroxham right back with ease curled a shot into the back post but Retkoceri made sure and was given offside and the goal and safety buffer was taken away.

The Millers did manage to hold out and brought back a fantastic three points to Essex.
