Carey, 18, signed his first professional contact for Tottenham Hotspur back in May 2024. The 6ft6 goalkeeper was ever present for Spurs’ Under 18 side throughout the 2023/24 season, earning himself a pro deal, and joined the Under 21s in their tour in Spain earlier this pre-season.

Previously at EFL Championship Side Norwich City, Carey has continued to make progress within Spurs’ Academy system in recent years and was part of the young squad that won the Under-17 and Under-18 Premier League Cups in recent seasons.

In March 2024, he stepped up to the Under-21 matchday squad for the first time with a place on the bench in the Premier League 2 north London derby at Arsenal.
