Baffins Milton Rovers FC 2 Fareham Town FC 3
A thoroughly entertaining game between two local rivals ended in despair with three red cards and not one bad tackle on show.
The opening forty five minutes were pretty even which was reflected by the one - one score at half time.
Rovers enjoyed the better possession at the start of the second period and deservedly took the lead within ten minutes of the restart, only for the visitors to equalise three minutes later.
With both sides pressing for the winner, the game suddenly turned, with the first of the three reds, followed minutes later by the second and the final third after an incident involving the recipients of the previous two reds.
With less than a minute on the clock Tyler Moret flicked on for Freeman Williams, who advanced and crossed for Dale Mason, whose effort was hit straight at visiting keeper Ross Casey.
Minutes later and Wiliams was again involved, this time combing with Jason Parish, only for his effort to be saved by Casey.
Rovers survived a scare with just under twenty minutes gone when a throw in was intercepted and Curt Robins was allowed to advance before hitting the woodwork, to make matters worse for the visitors, Gary Austin rifled the rebound over the top, with the goal at his mercy.
Fareham took advantage of the next Baffins error when they were awarded a penalty after Corey Burns had misplaced his pass and brought down Simon Woods inside the box, trying to atone for his error.
Robins stepped up to send his spot kick high into the roof of the net in the 22nd minute.
Minutes later and Mason should have brought the sides level, but miss hit his shot from a Williams cross, when in front of goal.
Rovers equalised in the 28th minute when a ball was played in behind for Parish who was forced wide, before seeing his cross diverted past his own keeper Casey by the slightest of glances of the head of Ethan Jones.
H/T 1-1
Parish went one better in the 55th minute, with an effort that look like going in one place only the minute it left his foot. After an exchange of numerous passes the ball was played wide and the striker cut inside and curled an unstoppable effort past Casey into the far corner.
Three minutes later and the visitors were back on level terms having been awarded a free kick just outside the box. With the ball in only partially cleared, Jones atoned for his earlier on goal, by volleying back through the crowded box and into the net.
Midway through the the half and Shane Cornish combined with Robbie Taw, but was just unable to make a full connection to the return back into the box.
Parish again cut in from the wing and elected to pass, with his effort deflecting of referee Sam Hunt and invitingly into the path of substitute Callum Dart, only for his effort from outside the box to go outside, instead of inside the post.
The game took a turn for the worse in the 83rd minute when substitute Levi Hernandez was shown a straight red, for what was later described by Mr Hunt as violent conduct.
Two minutes later and the sides were level in numbers, Cornish being shown a second yellow and consequently a red, for a late lunge on the edge of the Fareham box.
After an undesirable incident involving Cornish and Hernandez, Baffins were reduced to nine men, with Tyler Moret having been shown a straight red by Mr Hunt.
Once the game settled and with both sides still pushing for all three points, Parish fired an effort across goal and wide, after a neat ball from Callum Glen.
To make matters worse Fareham stole the three points with virtually the last kick of the game, when a Baffins ball forward was cut out by Jones, who immediately returned it in behind the Rovers rearguard for Robins who advanced and fire home, much to the joy of the visiting fans behind the goal.
