Baffins Milton Rovers FC 1 Bournemouth Poppies FC 2
Rovers fell to their second home defeat in less than seven days and yet agin it was a game they should have won, having dominated large periods and created more than enough chances.
After an opening forty five minutes in which neither side could break the deadlock, we had two golds in the first three minutes of the second period, before the visitors stole the points with a late winner.
For the second consecutive match Baffins came face to face with a goal keeper, who was more than determined to keep the ball out of his net, and some of the saves he made were top drawer.
The opening exchanges were pretty even with neither side fully testing the keepers until Jason Parish saw an effort from a Corey Burns deflected behind.
Tommy Leigh and Owen Haly then combined with a set piece, with Owen rising in the box to head the formers corner wide of the post.
The younger of the Leigh brothers the tried a long range effort that sailed up and over the bar.
Just after half an hour Manny Ohameye challenged home keeper Cameron Scott to a ball in the air, which left the keeper in heap on the floor no requiring a lengthy period of treatment.
The first real effort to test either keeper come from Baffins, with Robbie Taw clipping an effort that was tipped over the top of his own bar by the back pedalling Sam Jones.
Just before the break and Jones was again to deny Rovers, when he denied Blu Boam from close range, after the striker climbed highest to reach a Tommy Leigh corner.
H/T 0-0
With less than a minute on the clock of the second half Boam gave Rovers the lead when he nipped in to steal an attempted back header from Chris Speers away from Jones and volleyed home.
The lead lasted less than two minutes as Lewis Harvey was somehow allowed time and space to meet a Fawzi Saadi cross and steer home an effort at the near post.
Meanwhile at the other end Callum Dart and Parish combined, with the formers effort failing to really test Jones in the Bournemouth goal.
Just before the hour and Boam had an effort deflected behind, before Ashton Leigh had an effort well saved by Jones.
Jones was again called into the action and denied Boam yet again with an outstanding save, to the amazement of the crowd, with Boam's effort heading for the top corner, the keeper somehow managed to fly across goal and tip his effort over the bar.
Josh Dean then got involved in the opponents area, only to find Jones in the way as the keeper blocked his initial effort, before the defender lifted the return up and over Jones and the crossbar.
With Rovers looking for the winner, they where almost caught out by a counter attack as a long ball over the top saw River Smith race clear, only to be denied by a great save from Scott.
At the other end a Baffins corner was headed back across goal and over the top by Haly, before Boam saw an effort deflected behind.
Having been warned earlier Rovers were caught out again with a long ball down the middle and this time Smith was to get the better of Scott, as he fired past the keeper to give Bournemouth an 83rd minute lead.
Late in the game and Jones was again the busier of the two keepers denying Tommy Leigh to ensure his side took all three points.
