FACILITIES UPDATE
As most, if not all of you are now aware, Bakewell Mannerians has now secured land for our own ground, located at the junction of Shutts Lane and Monyash Road in Bakewell.
A proposed Site Plan can be viewed here - https://pam.peakdistrict.gov.uk/files/55619217.pdf
The project will be a huge financial commitment for the Club who, with limited resources, will be seeking public grants, private sponsorship and the goodwill and hard work of club members.
There are fences to put up, pitches to level, drains to lay, sand to be put down, grass to sow and a 'Welfare Building & Club Room' to be erected to provide storage, toilet and first aid facilities together with a kitchen area and area where parents, spectators and children can shelter from the elements. This is another first and very much needed facility.
Plans for the proposed new Welfare Building & Club Room can be viewed here - https://pam.peakdistrict.gov.uk/files/55740845.pdf
The process of securing grants is underway, but a substantial degree of private sponsorship will also be needed.
If anyone feels they might like to become involved with fundraising or contribute in any way, please let Ben Furness (Chairman) b.r.furness@gmail.com or Denzil Bowyer (Vice Chairman)(djb5bcm@aol.com) know.
