Weather providing lasting affects

WEEKEND HIGHLIGHTS - 12th May 2012

A day of unbroken sunshine and temperatures reaching the dizzy heights of 12 degrees came as a welcome relief. Most games were able to get under way albeit looking at some of the scores conditions have been less than favourable
Sadly there were the inevitable cancellations as waterlogged grounds had failed to recover sufficiently. In week 4 of the 2012 season there are still some teams who have not yet managed to play. In the Premier Division the biggest disappointment will have been for Pontblyddyn who last week topped the Division but their picturesque ground with rivers on two sides has seen many home games cancelled due to the wet conditions.
Brymbo, another side who briefly topped the Division after last Monday's game came unstuck at Mold, who record their second home victory winning by a 45 run margin.
Menai Bridge fresh from their comprehensive victory at Champions, Connah's Quay, last week-end find the going much tougher with a hard fought 2 wicket victory over visiting St Asaph.
Proving that life is indeed tough at the top Champions Connah's Quay lose their second successive home game to Llandudno who are obviously determined to recapture the title again this year.
Mochdre ease past Northop who again had posted a tricky target. Two outstanding individual batting displays on either side but Mochdre edge it to take pole position - yet another change at the top.

In Division 1 the Hawarden Park promotion challenge already under way with a comfortable win at Pwllheli - both Clubs relegated from the Premier in 2011. South African Jason Biddulph hits another unbeaten score of 95 to steer them home.

Chirk after some poor results by their standards come away with a comprehensive 9 wicket win at Bangor IIs who have struggled to get going this season.

After a promising start to the season Llanrwst were surprisingly beaten at home, in a very low scoring affair, by Halkyn. A game where spin bowling dominated with 11 of the wickets falling to this guile. Line and length proved decisive with 10 bowled and 5 LBWs.

Llandudno 2nds consolidate their impressive start to the season with their third victory to take top spot in the Division. A mixture of youth and experience sees them overcome the challenge of Gresford.
