Barnoldswick Town Juniors committee member Pat Jones has arranged the installation of maintenance of a new Defibrillator at Victory Park, Barnoldswick.
The installation of this came about due to the tragic death of a young female footballer in East Lancs last year and it was decided that it would be a great idea to try and get one fitted in our park.
Fortunately for the club I have a good link with the North West Ambulance Service and was able to secure a Defibrillator free of charge. The only cost would be for the cabinet but in the end the NWAS even gave us that for free. The Council Parks Department have paid for the installation and will maintain it. We as a club and the Parks Dept will be donating to the NWAS Charity Trust to say thank you, as the original cost for all this would have been around £1800 in total.
Those interested in training on a Defib unit are free to attend a training night at Barnoldswick Town FC clubhouse on 22nd April 7-8.30pm, everyone is welcome and your teams coaches will also be attending.
