Barnton further strengthened their team on Thursday, with the signing of midfielder Jordan Stafford, who returns to the club for a third time.
Speaking on Thursday evening, Stafford was delighted to be rejoining the Villagers with manager Steve Lloyd's style of play being a huge driver behind his decision: "Steve gave me the opportunity to come back and with Barnton being a local club for me and what we achieved last year it was always going to sway me."
He added: "But the way he has his teams playing football was a big one, I enjoy playing football and loads of teams in the league love to go long. From games I've seen this season of Barnton and how Steve had his team at Eccleshall he likes his teams the play good football but in the right areas."
Stafford arrives back knowing that he must earn his place within the first team: "The only aim I have is to work hard and get into the team. With recent form I know it's not going to be easy but a challenge I've taken on. From there I guess it's okay well and stay in the team."
Manager Lloyd was also on hand to offer his thoughts on the latest addition to his squad: "I'm delighted to welcome Jordan back to the club, he's a player we tried to retain in the summer."
He added: "His desire to return to the club, his willingness and attitude to work hard and compete for his opportunity really impressed me. I'm sure he'll prove to be a valuable acquisition to the squad."
The club is currently on a 5 game unbeaten run in the league and Stafford is confident that the team can continue climbing the table, and avoid being dragged into the relegation fight: "Honestly I know what the clubs personal aim was and probably still is. For me why not look at mid table."
