First home game of the season proved rewarding for the riversiders as they came out on top against a saffron dynamo team who had just picked up a good point against Hinckley afc.
barrow came out the blocks firing and could have been a few goals up within the first 5 minutes.
a barrage of attacks wave after wave resulted in the first goal from a corner with a good delivery from Jordan Holmes. nick reeves climbed highest to nod the riversiders in front. a few minutes later barrow were 2-0 up with great football being played tom Mangan got in behind down the left hand side before squaring to Jordan Holmes for a tap in. all the pressure kept pilling on the saffron dynamo defence and 2 soon became 3 when tom Mangan reacted fastest to turn the ball home for 3-0. more chances came in the first half and barrow could have found themselves further in front.
half time 3-0
the second half seen saffron come out on the front foot and barrow didn't seem to have left the dressing room. no clear cut chances were created but barrow became sloppy. as barrow grew back into the game they could have scored a few more with nick reeves and tom Mangan both missing one on ones. shortly followed by a great header by wade ball that came back of the crossbar and tom Mangan reacted quickest to smash the rebound goalward but a great save prevented another goal. barrow then saw the game out and ran out 3-0 victors in a very professional job.
