Barry Town United are delighted to welcome back full international Atif Bashir, after a long-term injury lay-off.

Nicknamed 'The Bulldozer', 29-year old Atif has represented Pakistan since 2008 but was born in Germany, beginning his football career with Hertha Berlin.

In September 2012, Atif sustained a significant injury playing for Barry at Haverfordwest County. The incident ending his 2012-13 season after only a handful of games and would rule him out of the entire 2013-14 title-winning campaign.

However, having successfully rehabilitated, Bashir made his return as a substitute at Briton Ferry last Saturday, impressing during the final half hour.

A versatile player with experience at the highest level of university football, as well as with Cardiff City, Atif makes a valuable addition to Gavin Chesterfield's playing staff for the coming season as he looks to increase his career tally of 73 appearances and four goals in Barry colours.
