Complete History:

The team was founded by Liam Bryan in 2014, following great success over the years in the Central Warwickshire Youth Football League. Liam wanted to build a platform for his players of past and prsent to compete at the best level by playing Saturday football in one of the oldest, most recognized and remaining Amateur Leagues, the Birmingham AFA.

As the start of the 2014/15 season encroached, Liam had recently left Northfield Town and joined Alvechurch F.C. Taking his remaining younger side as Alvechurch U'15s who played in the Central Warwickshire League and reforming Alvechurch Reserves, a feature at the club which hadn't occurred since 2001. Liam selected players who have played for him in the past including those who had recently won the Birmingham County FA Minor Challenge Cup at Villa Park, under the name of Northfield Town Colts. With some players being scouted for professional clubs, amongst them were Bright Enokakohare (Wolves) and Kory Roberts (Walsall) who started at Birmingham City F.C Development.

For the first time in many years this was the start of new things at Alvechurch F.C. The Reserves games were played at Merrits Brook, Northfield which suited the players as it was closer to home as they were from around the area. Liam managed to persuade Ogochukwu Obiakor to join his team, the former Nigerian striker taking the role as a Goal Keeper. Alvechurch Reserves finished a respectable 5th in Division 1 during their first season. Off the field Jordan Gibson's appearances saw the youngster play for the Alvechurch first team and was then snapped up by Glasgow Rangers, another member of Liam's former County Cup winning team.

2015/16 season saw a good progression for Alvechurch reserves, they finished 4 points from top, finishing a well deserved 2nd and was granted promotion to the Premier Division. Off the field the success of the all the teams during this season at Alvechurch appeared to be the start of something, Liam having a different vision to the Alvechurch board members resulted in him leaving the club on mutual grounds.

Post Season Liam was left to regain his love for the game, with the right connections at Bartley Green F.C and offers from Continental Star F.C, the team who played as Alvechurch Reserves was renamed to Bartley Green Continental F.C.

To meet the requirements in order to participate in the now Birmingham & District Football League Premier Division, Rubery Town F.C's Bay Tree Farm, is our new ground for the 2016/17 Season.
